Kaede Tsukimiya 1/7 scale PVC by Solid Theater

This figure caught my eyes while I was wondering around in the dealer room at Anime North 2008. I thought it is just an original work by Solid Theater just like Banana is a snack? figure, it turned out that she is Kaede Tsukimiya, a character from Miraroma eroge. Danny mentioned about this eroge last month.

Her expression is priceless, not to mention her cute but sexy pose ^^

Empty Parking on the north side of TCC on Day 3

Last of day Anime North, I wish it didn’t have to end so quickly but I had an amazing this year. I woke up around 9am and took a shower and all that crap then left to TCC. I got a nice parking spot this time, it was just right by entrance. Last day of Anime North is always much less crowded compare to Day 1 or 2. Parking area was pretty much empty.

Line up for registration

I arrived at Toronto Congress Centre around 10 am and saw a long line up for registration. It’s kinda expected since it’s Saturday and I had to park far away from the entrance because all the lots near the entrance were all occupied.

Anime North 2008 Day 1

This is my 5th anime north and I have been attending it religiously every year since 2004. Each year the attendance is increasing. Last year, there were 13,500 attendees so we can expect the number goes up to 15,000. Anime North in Toronto is one of the largest anime convention in North America in term of total attendance according to 2007 statistic (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anime_convention ).

Anime North 2008 Preview

So I went to Double Tree hotel to pick up my AN2008 badge and The hotel is already crowded with AN attendees. The line is quite long but it’s moving on a steady pace so it’s not bad. It took me around half an hour to get my badge.

I didn’t see many people dressed up yet and out of the people who cosplays, I only recognized Urahara Kisuke from Bleach. Hopefully tomorrow, I can find FSN cosplayers because last year I only saw 2 of them (Saber and Archer) -_-.

Caren Hortensia 1/7 scale PVC by Griffon Enterprise

It’s no secret that I am a big fan of Fate series ^_^ so most of my figures are from the Fate series. Caren Hortensia is one of the characters in Fate / Hollow Ataraxia ( フェイト/ホロウアタラクシア). I haven’t read the novel yet but it does not stop me from getting this figure.

I bought this figure from www.hlj.com for ¥4,290 (approximately ~$41). It’s quite challenging to take some pictures since my lightbox is kinda limited in term of space and this figure is pretty wide because of her red cloth of Magdala.

D.Gray-man Ep 79 : Noah's Memory

This episode is not as bad as I thought it would be  because the manga version has about 4-5 chapters alone for Noah’s memory so I thought it’s going to take the whole episode talking about Skin’s Bolic past from the preview in last episode.

Rin Tohsaka Swimsuit by Clayz Ver. 2

After unsatisfactory result from last photo shoot for Rin Tohsaka Swimsuit by Clayz, I made some major changes on how I did it. As I said in my last post , I bought some vellum paper for my lightbox which I made from scratch. The vellum paper costed me around $8 after tax for 4 sheets.

I think the result is much better than before since  I used 3 lamps in total. I got 2 extra work lamps for $9.99 each from IKEA ^^. Cheap stuff but they work well for my lightbox.

Just another good weekend in Toronto

My friend and I went to Vaughn Mills Mall by Highway 400 on Saturday. I didn’t really have anything to buy but my friends wanted to get a new bag for school and I never been to Vaughn Mills Mall before (it’s kinda sad since I have been living in Toronto for 2 years already).

We went for quite a long ride before arriving at Vaughn Mills Mall. I may have not been to Vaughn Mills Mall but I know how to get there from google map, however, I was wrong to trust her on direction >.> . 45 minutes later, we finally arrived. Mall is just mall I guess since every malls look more less the same ^^.
