Newtype USA is no more >.>

Newtype USA announced that February 2008 issue will be their last. This is a huge blow for me since I just recently subscribed for a year early this month, /sigh. I highly doubt that I can get money back 😦 and they most likely will subscribe me to a new magazine called PiQ at which I have no interest on it. If only I had found out about this sooner, I definitely won’t subscribe :S. I luckily stumbled into one of Dannychoo.com’s post about Newtype USA , otherwise, I will be waiting for my Newtype USA magazine for years. Maybe I can dispute it with my credit card company and get a refund because technically, Newtype USA doesn’t exist anymore and the new magazine, PiQ, is a separate entity from ADV and Newtype.

I have been playing around with my camera, Canon IXUS 860 IS, since I started this blog and this time, I tried couple shots with different lightning colour (yellow and white). The final images still don’t meet my expectation for macro shot. I really need an SLR camera but my sister told me it’s not worth if I am just going to take pictures of my figures.

This Saber bikini figure is really cute and has a sexy pose. She is holding a beach volleyball ( I think ) and you can remove the ball. Too bad I couldn’t find anything good to replace the ball XD.

Anime North 2008

I will be attending Anime North 2008 on May 23rd to May 25th ^_^;I bought my weekend pass last night for $45. I have been religiously attending anime north for the past 5 years so I hope they will have japanese guests like before. The best one is probably when they had Kotoko singing at Anime North 2006 .

Pre-registration is available online at the official Anime North 2008 website and for those who are coming from out of Toronto and planning to stay at the hotels nearby, you might want to hurry up and book your hotel because most of them are fully booked already XD.

This year should be interesting since I have a blog now so I will take pictures left and right like crazy and I have a car so transportation should be even easier; no more TTC XD.

Looking forward to this year Anime North 2008.

To Love Ru

I was reading an article @ Danny Choo about To Love Ru being made into anime the other day and also the trailer. It seems that many people recommend this series so I decided to give it a try and see what the hype is about.

Guess what ? I am totally hooked with To Love Ru ^^;;. I am reading the manga right now and been going on for 2 hours already lol and I am totally laughing my ass off (my roommate maybe think that I am crazy or something ^^;;). It’s just incredibly funny and enjoyable to read. Well….. there are some ecchi stuff here and there to spice things up but overall, I love it. I can’t wait for the anime which should be coming out Spring 2008 and this is definitely on my watch list.

Rosario + Vampire Ep. 7 : BRRRRR…… It's cold…….

This episode introduces the snow girl, Shirayuki which would be chapter 19 in the manga version. The Newspaper club has gained recent success due to last incident and everyone at school wants their newspaper. To celebrate their success, Moka suggests to hold a party so all of them are going to stores to buy beverages and snacks. Gin-senpai already fled of somewhere to harass more girls O_O. Suddenly a girl (Shirayuki) appears out of nowhere and says that she likes the newspaper articles that Tsukune wrote.

D.Gray-man Ep. 71 : Zzzzzz……zzzzzzz……zzzzzzzz

Well this episode is pretty much boring after the last one. The Asian branch is cleaning up the mess caused by the demon and they examine Allen’s body to make sure that he is ok, although, Allen seems to have the same appetite as before lol ^_^. Allen’s synchronization level with his innocence has reached 100% due to last incident. I guess losing his innocence and getting it back does something to reach 100%.

Kimikiss Pure Rouge Ep. 19

Woot Kimi Kiss Pure Rouge Ep. 19 is ouuuuuuttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I am uber excited about this episode because of what happened at the end of last episode; Mao-neechan confessed her feeling to Kouichi. The situation at their house becomes so awkward everytime they see each other. Although, Mao-neechan said that she has no intention trying to break Kouichi with Hoshino, Kouichi has become totally absent-minded and spaced out a lot, especially in class. Since Mao broke up with Kai, he also seems to ignore her when the two met at the shoe locker place and he still couldn’t accept that Mao-neechan broke up with him from the look of it.

My figures from Hobby Link Japan finally arrived yesterday. It took them almost 3 weeks to process and ship everything. I could have gotten it sooner but there was a national public holiday in Japan on February 11th called National foundation day which delayed my order basically -.-;; .

The packaging comes with the figure itself and a clear transparent base which you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to. The figure itself has 2 parts: the upper body and the lower body where it’s detachable and the skirt can be removed but I decided not to do it because it might leave black marks on the figure itself which is exactly what happened to my Sakura Matou Swimsuit Ver.

Saber (Fate Hollow Ataraxia) New Costume Ver. by Kotobukiya

I bought this figure at Anime North 2007 last year for $34 (no tax). Since I am starting this blog, I might as well write something about this figure. As usual, I am really frustrated with the quality my digital camera because every time I take a close up picture, it becomes dotted and the picture is kinda pixelled as if you zoom an image thousand times /sigh. This time I put the figure right under my room light so the lightning should be at least decent. In addition, I put a white background (white T-shirt lol)
